Maria Fernanda + Antonio | Switzerland Wedding

Mafe, short for Maria Fernanda, is a wedding photographer from Caracas, Venezuela. We met at a Foundation Workshop where she was one of six students on a team I taught with Huy Nguyen. Being her photographer felt more like being a guest at a wedding full of photographers with an extraordinary European backdrop. Their destination wedding was at the Villa Principe Leopoldo Hotel.
During my first visit to this country, I flew into Zurich and rode the train through the Alps to Lugano. Lugano is a little city just north of Lake Como on the border of Italy. Antonio and his brother were perfect hosts to all of us foreigners coming to their country for the first time. Even though Antonio is not a photographer, last year he felt the need to attend an intimate photographer’s event. This is where he and Mafe met and they wasted no time in tying the knot.
