Nicole + Evan | New York City Engagement
On a hot summer day in Manhattan, Nikki, Evan and I met in Central Park and spent several hours chasing light, drinking tequila and blasting AC in the car. I really like these guys and know their wedding is going to be unforgettable.
Chusheng + Eileen | San Francisco Engagement
These kind and thoughtful foodies flew to San Francisco from Singapore to be tourists and shoot their engagement portraits. Chusheng and Eileen and I talked a lot about food as we visited popular San Francisco sites shooting pictures on a rare, perfect weather day in the bay area. I never grow tired of shooting here and only wish I didn’t have to fly in and fly out of one of my favorite cities on the same day.
Nazanin + Arash | Los Angeles Engagement
The brilliant and sexy couple Nazanin and Arash were photographed in downtown L.A. celebrating their engagement. If you’ve seen Spike Jonze’s film “Her,” you may recognize the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles, where one of the film’s scenes was shot. It’s a popular landmark for obvious reasons and we all fell in love with it at sunset. We also hit the old L.A. zoo in Griffith Park.
Lindsey + Brad | Orange County Engagement Portraits
Lindsey and Brad are getting married at Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla this weekend, so I thought I would post a few of their engagement photos today. Doesn’t Lindsey look just like actress Helen Hunt? We photographed these portraits at sunset in Costa Mesa a while ago and I look forward to seeing what we come up with at their beach wedding in a few days.
Nanami + Joe | La Jolla Engagement Portraits
Nanami and Joe were just engaged and wasted no time in setting up an engagement portrait shoot with me in La Jolla. The weather was cloudy and cold on this day and we considered at the last minute to re-schedule. Luckily we didn’t, and the moment we began the sky cracked open and gave us lots of sunshine and a beautiful sunset. These two are moving to Washington D.C. this summer and I hope these photos help them remember their time in Southern California.
TYLER + TRACY | WHITE SANDS ENGAGEMENT PORTRAITS
Tracy and Tyler of Tracy Turpen Photography had the brilliant idea to shoot their engagement photos at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. Their studio is based in Asheville, North Carolina and their wedding will be in the Appalachian Mountains. I’m so excited to present this collection of pictures for two fun and creative people and will look forward to shooting them again next summer.
VICTOR + SARA | CANCUN PORTRAITS
Victor and Sara are wedding photographers in Cancun, Mexico. We met in July for a workshop and began this shoot in a neighborhood of Cancun and finished at a rooftop bar in Playa Del Carmen.
CYNTHIA & ERIC | DENVER ENGAGEMENT
Cynthia’s mother is from Colombia and Eric’s is from China, so it’s remarkable in a way that these two people are now engaged to be married. This was our second and successful attempt at getting together for their portraits. The first time we were rained out. The second time we got very lucky with a perfect day in between May snow showers.
HOLLAND & JUSTIN ENGAGED | SAN FRANCISCO
Holly is an old friend who grew up with my wife in Durango, Colorado. You may recognize her from the MTV reality TV show Road Rules, which she starred in for several seasons. I knew I’d be photographing Holly’s wedding before she and Justin even met, and we’re all eagerly waiting for their Fall Colorado wedding.
