Malibu Rocky Oaks Wedding | Courtney + Kevin
This is the sexiest wedding we have ever photographed. It started with a Malibu beach party and ended with wedding night boudoir. It is also the moment I fell in love and in sync with the Fujifilm cameras, a system that allows me to shoot more freely and creatively and get that film look. Perched on top of a mountain in the beautiful Malibu canyon country, Malibu Rocky Oaks estate and vineyards is simply breathtaking and one of the prettiest locations we have ever photographed a mountain top wedding.

Casa Sonojawasi wedding | Cheyenne & Holden
San Miguel de Allende weddings are never the same and Cheyenne and Holden proved this by bringing their good taste and wild friends from Texas. Every time I visit San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico for a shoot, I discover new places and large, beautiful houses that visitors can rent. It’s really a perfect place to celebrate a wedding, party and have an unforgettable adventure in one, long weekend. Penzi weddings and events were the planners, but Cheyenne and Holden were the wonderful, beautiful couple at the center of this incredible weekend.

Casa Hyder Wedding | Lauren + Ryan
The Hyder house is one of my favorite wedding venues in San Miguel de Allende. Choosing San Miguel for Lauren and Ryan’s small, destination wedding was simple – Lauren’s family has a home here. Beyond all of my favorite elements of this wedding; the wonderful light, colors, decor, intimacy of the old house, I also enjoyed the quieter details – how the pastor carried his own special shot glass, how Lauren became so nervous before the ceremony, Ryan’s calm demeanor and how Lauren’s father nestled his face in the cleavage of the mojiganga. Designed by Penzi weddings and events. Photos by Brett Butterstein and Mallory Olenius.

Casa Carino Wedding | Stacey + John
Stacey and John’s wedding in San Miguel De Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico was my kind of day. It had lots of booze, adventure, nudity, a tuk tuk and very happy people. This was my first wedding with planner Catherina Castrejon of Penzi weddings and events. When moments became challenging, her friendly face and attention to detail made everything better. Instituto Allende Wedding | Sloane & Ruby
Fashion designers Sloane and Ruby, both stylish and beautiful, married in the backyard of San Miguel de Allende’s Art Institute. Sloane’s brother Christopher officiated. I could write a lot about Christopher, his family, how I shot his wedding, how we’re neighbors in coastal Southern California and how significant he has been in connecting me to this wonderful city. But this time I got to get to know Sloane and I was along for the ride. Ruby and Guadalupe of Penzi weddings and events had the ideas and the vision and Mallory Olenius and I just tried to keep up.

Hacienda Temozon Wedding | Charlotte & Johan
Mexican weddings in the Yucatan, close to the cities of Merida and Campeche, often take place at really old haciendas turned five star, luxury hotels. Charlotte and Johan created a wonderful wedding at one of the oldest, Hacienda Temozon. Planned by Margarita Fink, this wedding was a treat to shoot, with a color-saturated reception under a giant tree in the jungle. Charlotte was a story book bride with a timeless beauty and Johan looked like a guy who was having the best day of his life. Photos by Brett Butterstein and Caroline Godkin.
