Del Mar
This upscale beach town in San Diego County is known for thoroughbred racing and a quaint downtown with good shopping and excellent restaurants. The beaches here are some of San Diego’s best and with a permit, you can get married on one.

Orange County
Orange County has a huge wedding industry with lots of resources, famous wedding photographers and event planners and wedding venues that do a great job of utilizing the coastline.

Coronado Island
Home to the famous Hotel Del and Coronado Beach, this island across San Diego Bay offers the best views of downtown San Diego and lots of photogenic portrait spots. The best time to shoot portraits on Coronado Island is when the sun is setting and the San Diego skyline begins to light up.

La Jolla
The prestigious and beautiful city of La Jolla has some of San Diego’s most dramatic coastline and photogenic beaches and is a great place to have a seaside wedding. It’s also a wonderful place for engagement or wedding portraits on the beach in La Jolla Cove or on La Jolla Shores.

Palm Desert
A southern California winter vacation spot and Celebrity getaway, Palm Springs and the surrounding area is also popular with weddings. There are plenty of old and new wedding venues to choose from here and I have some recommendations if you’re interested in a wedding by a pool in the desert.

Napa & Sonoma Valley
Wineries and weddings make a great fit and there are many reasons why the best wedding photographers in the world come to shoot here. Napa and the surrounding area is one of the nation’s top wedding destinations with beautiful weather, high-end romantic venues, chateaus, wine caves, ruins and expansive natural landscapes.

Hawaii
Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places in the world with a pretty culture and popular with destination weddings for obvious reasons. I love coming here and have photographed weddings on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.

Mexico
I find myself falling in love with this country more and more and travel here multiple times a year. The colorful towns, beaches, passionate and romantic culture and festive atmosphere make this one of my favorite places to photograph.

Downtown San Diego
With our city’s wonderful weather, beaches, major attractions and beautiful bay, downtown San Diego is a romantic place to visit and has a huge array of wedding options. It’s also a fun place to be a photographer. Weddings on yachts in the bay, in the Gaslamp Quarter and in Balboa Park are truly unique to San Diego.
