MEREDITH & DANIEL | SAN MIGUEL, MEXICO WEDDING

San Miguel has become a favorite place of mine, so finally getting to shoot a wedding here was really exciting. Meredith and Daniel’s Shaman wedding ceremony was not only incredibly unique and spiritual, but very emotional and extremely photogenic. The ceremony and reception took place at Casa Schuck. The event was planned by Meengan and Guadalupe at Penzi Weddings and Events. They are incredible at what they do but also spoiled me during my entire stay. One of the most magical moments of the day was when the wedding party paraded through the cobble stone streets drinking a total of eight bottles of tequila. JOHN & JUDY | CALISTOGA, CALIFORNIA WEDDING

The California Napa Valley wine country in September can be hot, but it’s always sunny and filled with beautiful light. John and Judy were married at the Solage Resort where I’ve somehow been lucky enough to have photographed several weddings now. The only surprise other than how hard this group partied, was guest and Discovery’s Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe.

MARK & CARLY | SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA WEDDING

I’ve been friends with Mark Stroud for about 15 years. We met in Montana and went on some of the best climbing trips of my life together. He and Carly’s love life is filled with adventure and travel. Mark flies them to places like Mexico in their Cessna and they are about to honeymoon in Tibet. Their Thailand-themed beach wedding took place in front of Carly’s family’s house. It was coordinated by Carly and Mark’s sister-in-law, event planner Kim Curtis of TOAST SANTA BARBARA.

SHANE & LINDSAY | WOLF RIVER, WISCONSIN WEDDING

I met wedding photographer Shane Macomber at the Foundation Conference last year when I was one of the presenters. I was more than flattered when he and Lindsay decided to book me for their lake wedding at Lindsay’s family summer cottage. The guest list was loaded with talented photographers and it was a blast getting to know all of them.

CHRIS & TRACI | HOUSTON WEDDING

When the church ladies told me at the rehearsal that photography was not allowed at the ceremony in St. Paul’s methodist I panicked. Obviously this puts me in a difficult situation. But heros Morgan and Amir, of Morgan Lynn Photography came to the rescue. They volunteered to arrive as “guests” and sniper shoot from the pews. I was allowed five frames from the balcony but obviously shot more. What’s more important is that Traci and Chris had a wonderful wedding day. See a photo of the church ladies at the end of the slideshow.

NIC & MICHI | SEATTLE WEDDING

Cloudy and rainy weather didn’t stop Nic and Michi and all of their friends from having a really fun day on Bainbridge Island, which is a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle. As you can see from these photos, this group knows how to have fun. Nic and I didn’t make this connection until the wedding day, but he and I graduated from Montana State University in the same year. Actually, so did a bunch of the other guys at the wedding, although we didn’t know each other when we all lived in Bozeman together.
