Tamara + Eddy | San Diego Engagement

Tamara and Eddy’s wedding is going to be the biggest wedding that I have ever photographed in San Diego. Their families have been friends since their childhood and there are going to be a lot of people at their downtown San Diego wedding to celebrate with them. I always love hanging out with people who speak more español than English, a language I love and am trying hard to learn. We met up under the Interstate 8 overpass in Mission Valley and ended up in the Gaslamp District. Photos by Brett Butterstein

Jonathan + Mimi | San Diego Engagement

This engagement shoot was the first time that I had a couple bring an entourage with them. Jon’s twin brother and their photographer friend joined Mallory Olenius and I on our downtown San Diego adventure. Of course we put these guys to work and we couldn’t have come up with some of these pictures without them. San Diego has so many great locations for engagement pictures that it can be difficult deciding where to go. We hit Balboa Park, Sunset Cliffs and Lindbergh Field. Jonathan and Mimi have amazing fashion sense and I can’t wait to see what they come up with for their Malibu wedding. Photography by Brett Butterstein and Mallory Olenius.

Jillian + Jeremy | San Diego Engagement

Jillian used to baby sit my two sons Bailey and Taylor. Now she is planning a new life with her fiancée, Jeremy. They surprised me with a car full of props and an ipad gallery of ideas. We met at the Sulk Institute in La Jolla, went for a hike at Black’s Beach and spent the rest of the evening basking in killer light, at a Lagoon in Carlsbad ten minutes from my house.
