Workshops
Do you feel like your photography could get better if only you had a mentor to get you there quickly? I have been a student at numerous photography workshops myself and understand exactly what this feels like. In 2007, I spent a week in Bangkok with legendary Time magazine photographer James Nachtwey and National Geographic photographer David Alan Harvey. Nachtwey saw shortcomings in my pictures that I wasn’t seeing myself and the experience forever changed the way I see and understand photography.
I offer consultation services and private workshops for all levels of photographers. This ranges from a quick critique over the telephone to full-day sessions.
I’m also on the faculty for the Foundation workshop in San Miguel, Mexico. The workshop model at Foundation uses photojournalism assignments as vehicles for wedding photographers to improve their story-telling and photographic skills. Students are often moved to tears through this powerful process and I’m very proud to be a part of such a unique teaching experience.
My final workshop for 2011 is in Denver, December 6-7.
